A new edition to our Woven Art Collection, Hound design takes inspiration from medieval tapestries celebrating companionship, loyalty, and heraldic symbolism. The two hounds depicted in the Hound Design face one another in a poised dialogue, evoking the noble spirit and enduring bond between humans and their earliest animal allies.

Our woven art collection is a celebration of the artists behind each of our handcrafted pieces. We’ve partnered with exceptional artisans in India, delicately weaving with local jute fibres into beautiful tapestries, bringing unusual hand made textiles into your space.

HANGING INSTRUCTIONS

These come with interlocking brackets. One set is pre-stitched to the back of the artwork at the top, the other set should be installed on the wall. This provides an invisible and strong hanging solution. They can also be hung in other ways - such as inset into the wall, with a frame, a gold pole to hang off.

ABOUT HAND-KNOTTING

Originating in Tibet, this weaving method wraps yarn carefully around two warps and a temporary rod. Once the rod is covered with loops, a cut is made to form a pile. Composed of thousands of individual knots, it requires highly skilled artisans and time, making them very high quality and long.

ABOUT HAND-TUFTING

Hand-tufted rugs are created with strands of wool punched through the backing using a handheld tufting tool. Once the design is complete, a layer of backing is applied to secure the tufts, and the surface is sheared to reveal a soft, even pile. The pile can be sheared into various heights and patterns, allowing for variations in both feel and design and creating a hardwearing, soft finish.

ABOUT FLATWEAVE

On horizontal looms, artisans pass the weft yarns carefully through the warp, beating them tightly into place to form a strong, flat surface to create a tactile, versatile flatweave.
