All our products are handwoven one piece at a time by our team. Due to this process, there may be minor variances in size, shape or colour, from one item to the next. Such variations are inherent in the manufacturing of handwoven rugs, but this is what makes them so unique.

Flatweave wool rugs involve a meticulous process that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. The weft threads are woven through the warp using a shuttle or other weaving tools. The weft threads are tightly woven to create a smooth, flat surface without any pile, which offers durability, versatility, and style. Easy to clean and maintain, its resilience ensures longevity even in high-traffic areas. Wool's natural properties provide warmth and breathability, making it suitable year-round. Available in a variety of designs, colours, and sizes, we offer flatweave wool rugs to match any aesthetic preference.

ABOUT HAND-KNOTTING

Originating in Tibet, this weaving method wraps yarn carefully around two warps and a temporary rod. Once the rod is covered with loops, a cut is made to form a pile. Composed of thousands of individual knots, it requires highly skilled artisans and time, making them very high quality and long.

ABOUT HAND-TUFTING

Hand-tufted rugs are created with strands of wool punched through the backing using a handheld tufting tool. Once the design is complete, a layer of backing is applied to secure the tufts, and the surface is sheared to reveal a soft, even pile. The pile can be sheared into various heights and patterns, allowing for variations in both feel and design and creating a hardwearing, soft finish.

ABOUT FLATWEAVE

On horizontal looms, artisans pass the weft yarns carefully through the warp, beating them tightly into place to form a strong, flat surface to create a tactile, versatile flatweave.
